전남광주 해남군의 한 복지시설에서 천연기념물인 수달이 발견돼 소방 당국에 구조됐다.1일 전남광주소방본부에 따르면 이날 오전 10시 36분경 해남군 해남읍 한 복지시설에서 ‘수달이 나타났다’는 신고가 접수됐다.현장에 출동한 당국은 포획 작업에 나서 신고 24분여 만인 같은날 오전 11시경 수달을 무사 구조했다. 구조된 수달은 순천 소재 전남야생동물구조관리센터로 인계됐다.당국은 복지시설 인근 해남천에서 서식하던 수달이 길을 잃은 것으로 보고 경위를 조사하고 있다. 천연기념물 330호이자 멸종위기 야생동물 1급으로 지정된 수달은 해남을 주 서식지로 하고 있다. 하천 생태계의 건강성을 판단하는 지표종으로 꼽히기도 한다. 수달은 하천이나 바위 등지에 생활하지만 먹이가 풍부하지 않으면 도심에서도 발견되는 경우가 있다. 족제비과에 속하는 포유류인 수달은 몸길이 65~110㎝, 꼬리 길이 30~50㎝, 체중 5~14㎏ 정도다.

Apple Maps follows Google in renaming Lake Ontario
