중소기업 남성 10명 중 8명 “육아휴직·근로시간 단축 사용 못해”
중소기업의 남성 근로자 10명 중 8명은 육아휴직과 육아기 근로시간 단축을 사용한 적이 없는 것으로 나타났다.한국여성정책연구원은 2일 이 같은 내용을 담은 ‘이슈페이퍼:중소사업체 근로자의 일생활균형 실태와 정책방향’ 보고서를 발표했다. ‘육아휴직’은 8세 이하 또는 초등학교 2학년 이하 자녀를 둔 근로자가 최대 1년간 휴직할 수 있는 제도다. 다음달 20일부터는 육아휴직을 사용할 수 있는 최소 기간이 30일에서 1주일로 짧아진다.‘육아기 근로시간 단축’은 12세 이하 또는 초등학교 6학년 이하 자녀를 둔 근로자가 1주일당 근로시간을 15시간 이상 35시간 이하로 줄일 수 있는 제도다. 자녀당 부모 각각 1년씩 최대 2년까지 사용할 수 있으며, 미사용 육아휴직 기간이 있을 경우 그 기간의 2배를 가산해 최대 3년까지 활용 가능하다. 보고서는 100인 미만 민간 중소사업체의 근로자 1010명을 대상으로 육아휴직, 육아기 근로시간 단축 등의 인지도·사용 가능성·활용 경험을 조사했

지난달 23일 충북의 한 국공립어린이집에서는 특수학급을 전담하는 교사가 체육 수업이 한창인 교실과 다른 교실을 바쁘게 오가고 있었다. 해당 교사는 체육 수업에 참여한 아이들을 책임지며 소리에 민감해 체육 수업을 받을 수 없는 장애아동을 함께 돌봐야 했다. 이 어린이집의 김향미 원장은 “유치원과 달리 어린이집은 특수학급 전담 교사 인건비가 전액 지원되지 않는다”며 “아이마다 교사를 배치하는 것은 엄두도 낼 수 없다”고 말했다. 초등학교 입학 전 영유아들은 대개 어린이집이나 유치원을 다닌다. 하지만 장애나 이주 배경을 가진 취약 영유아의 경우 어디를 다니느냐에 따라 교육이나 돌봄 수준의 격차가 크다는 지적이 나온다. 유치원과 어린이집에 대한 정부와 지방자치단체 등의 지원이 다르기 때문이다. 정부가 국정과제로 ‘정부 책임형 유보통합(유치원과 어린이집 통합)’을 추진하고 있지만 관련법은 국회 문턱을 넘지 못하고 있다. 돌봄, 보육의 격차가 학교 입학 이후의 학습 격차로 이어지지 않도록

Xbox’s ‘reset’: all the news about Microsofts looming layoffs and studio closures
Xbox is making some big changes — again. On June 10th, a few months after Asha Sharma took over as CEO, she and newly-promoted chief content officer Matt Booty sent a memo to staff warning of an “Xbox reset.” The business, they said, is facing significant challenges, including a 3 percent “accountability margin,” massively higher component prices for consoles due to the memory and storage shortage, and an “over extended” studio system. That same day, The Verge and Bloomberg reported that the Xbox division was planning layoffs in July. The cuts, expected to be announced on July 6th, could include studio closures or spinoffs. The Verge‘s Tom Warren reported on June 30th that Microsoft is looking at closing at least five studios and potentially canceling games like Blade. Under Sharma’s leadership, Xbox has already made some other major changes, including upcoming price hikes for Xbox consoles, lowering Game Pass prices but cutting out new Call of Duty games, rebranding Xbox to XBOX, and making both Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution Xbox console exclusives.
