He is well placed to bring together the states and territories, bring together different parts of government, and make sure that we have a consistent national framework. We have ruled out a text and data mining exemption and we have said that where Australian copyrighted material is used, it must be used with consent and with compensation for the creatives and copyright holders who made it. Windows 11s big patch Tuesday allows you to hold off on updates for longer

Microsoft just released a long list of improvements for Windows 11 as part of its bigger patch Tuesdays, and that includes the ability to pause updates indefinitely, as reported earlier by Windows Central. This option rolled out to Windows Insiders earlier this year, allowing you to hold off on updates for up to 35 days and repeatedly extend the deadline after that. It comes as part of Microsoft's plan to revitalize Windows 11 with updates focused on addressing user complaints and improving performance. From next spring, Britain’s oldest children will be urged to refrain from using certain apps with a midnight to 6am block being switched on by default. But the curfew will not be mandatory and can be overridden. 기초연금 ‘하후상박’ 구조로 개편 공식화

정부가 저소득층 고령자에게 기초연금을 더 주는 ‘하후상박(下厚上薄)’ 구조로 기초연금 제도를 개편한다. 모든 사업장에 퇴직연금을 의무화하고, 기금형 퇴직연금을 활성화하는 방안도 추진한다. 정부는 14일 발표한 2026년 하반기 경제성장전략에서 저소득층을 집중적으로 지원하는 방식의 기초연금 개혁을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다. 현재 65세 이상 인구 가운데 소득 하위 70%에 해당하면 매달 35만 원씩 기초연금을 받는다. 소득 하위 70% 기준은 매년 달라지는데 올해 1인 가구의 경우 월 247만 원보다 적게 벌어야 한다. 정부는 급격한 고령화로 기초연금 재정 부담이 커지는 가운데 소득이 있는 사람과 없는 사람이 똑같은 금액을 받는 현재 방식이 불합리하다고 판단했다. 앞서 정은경 보건복지부 장관은 지난달 11일 열린 간담회에서 연내 기초연금을 하후상박 구조로 개편할 것을 공식화하며 “하반기 안에 방향을 설정하겠다”고 밝힌 바 있다. 퇴직연금을 전 사업장에 단계적으로 의무화하는 방안도 다음

“베네수엘라 지진 피해 복구 위해”… ‘경남 기부천사’ 또 500만원 기탁

‘경남 기부 천사’로 불리는 익명의 기부자가 베네수엘라 지진 피해 주민들을 위해 써 달라며 500만 원을 전달했다. 14일 경남사회복지공동모금회에 따르면 이 기부자는 이날 오전 경남 창원시 의창구 모금회 사무국 입구에 성금 500만 원과 손편지, 국화꽃 한 송이가 담긴 상자를 두고 사라졌다. 편지에는 “베네수엘라 지진으로 인해서 희생되신 많은 분들께 삼가 조의를 표한다”며 “고통 중에 있는 많은 분들이 안정을 찾길 바라며 빠른 복구가 이뤄지길 바란다”는 내용이 담겨 있었다. 이 남성은 2017년부터 국내외 재난 피해가 발생할 때마다 국화 한 송이와 손편지를 남기며 기부를 이어오고 있다. 지금까지의 누적 기부액은 7억5000여만 원에 달한다. 그는 지난해 산불 피해와 2024년 7월 경기 화성 리튬 배터리 공장 화재 피해자를 위해 각각 500만 원을 기부했다. 2019년 경남 진주 아파트 화재 사고, 2022년 강원 산불, 서울 이태원 참사 때도 성금을 보냈다.

노동부 “기업투자는 단체교섭-쟁의 대상 아냐”

삼성전자 최대 노조인 초기업노조 삼성전자지부(초기업노조)가 정부의 호남 반도체 메가 프로젝트를 내년도 교섭 의제로 다루겠다고 밝힌 데 대해 고용노동부가 “개정 노동조합법(노란봉투법)상 단체교섭 및 노동쟁의 대상이 아니다”란 공식 입장을 내놨다. 노동부는 13일 밤 설명자료를 통해 “기업 투자, 공장 증설 등 사업 경영상의 결정 자체는 근로 조건에 실질적·구체적인 영향을 미친다고 보기 어렵다”며 이같이 밝혔다. 노란봉투법 해석 지침에서도 기업 투자와 합병·분할·양도 등 사업 경영상 결정 자체는 근로 조건에 실질적 영향을 미친다고 보기 어려워 교섭 대상이 아니라는 점을 명확히 하고 있다는 게 정부의 설명이다. 노동부 측은 “공장 증설 자체는 교섭 대상이 아님이 명확하다”며 “다만 증설 이후 노동자의 실제 근로 조건에 영향을 미치게 된다면 그 단계에서 해당 사항에 대해 교섭할 수 있다”고 설명했다. 호남 반도체 투자 자체는 교섭 대상이 아니지만, 이로 인해 실제 근로 조건이 달라진다

OpenAI may announce a ChatGPT smart speaker this year

OpenAI's first device is set to be a smart speaker that lets you talk with ChatGPT, according to a report from Bloomberg. The device apparently won't have a screen, but will use a camera and additional sensors to "understand" your environment. The report comes just days after Apple filed a lawsuit against OpenAI that accused the AI company of stealing hardware secrets. OpenAI, in a new statement on Tuesday, said that it is "not aware of any evidence that this complaint has merit."
