경찰 “잘못 버린 ‘사람 다리’, 요양병원서 가위로 잘라”

10일 인천의 한 재활용품 선별시설에서 발견된 사람 다리가 요양병원에서 절단한 환자 다리로 밝혀진 가운데, 병원 자원봉사자가 다리를 의료용 석고(깁스)로 착각해 버린 것으로 조사됐다. 수술실이 없는 요양병원에서 다리를 절단한 사실이 알려지자 병원 측은 “괴사가 상당히 진행돼 가위로 절단했다”고 해명했다. 인천 연수경찰서는 18일 언론 브리핑을 통해 “요양병원의 60대 남성 자원봉사자가 9일 쓰레기통 청소를 하던 중 옆 의료폐기물 전용 용기 안에 있던 다리를 깁스용 석고로 오인해 재활용 쓰레기 봉투에 담아 배출한 것으로 확인됐다”고 밝혔다. 자원봉사자가 붕대에 싸인 다리를 의료폐기물 봉투에서 꺼내 재활용 봉투에 옮기는 모습은 폐쇄회로(CC)TV를 통해 확인됐고, 봉사자도 경찰 조사에서 “깁스인 줄 알았다”고 진술한 것으로 전해졌다. 경찰에 따르면 병원은 8일 괴사가 진행된 89세 여성 입원 환자의 왼쪽 다리를 약 41cm 절단한 뒤 붕대로 감싸 의료폐기물 전용 봉투에 담아 버렸다.

‘코스피 불장’에… “국민연금 소진 4년 늦춰질 듯”

지난해 국민연금이 예상을 뛰어넘는 기금 운용 수익률을 기록하면서 기금 소진 시점이 기존 전망보다 4년 늦춰질 것이라는 전망이 나왔다. 19일 국회예산정책처의 ‘기금운용 실적 개선에 따른 국민연금 재정 수정 전망’ 보고서에 따르면 현행 제도가 유지될 경우 국민연금 재정수지는 2050년 적자로 전환되고, 2069년 소진될 것으로 전망된다. 예정처는 지난해 6월 연금개혁 효과를 반영해 2048년 적자 전환, 2065년 기금 소진을 예상했는데 이보다 각 2년, 4년씩 늦춰진 것이다. 기금 소진 시점이 늦춰진 건 기금 운용 성과 덕분이다. 지난해 기금 운용 수익률은 18.82%, 국내 주식 수익률은 82.44%를 기록했다. 지난해 말 누적 적립금은 1458조 원으로 전년 대비 245조 원 늘었다. 올 들어 ‘코스피 불장’이 지속되면서 지난달 말 기준 적립금은 약 1800조 원에 이르는 것으로 알려졌다. 장기 기금 운용 성과에 따른 재정 전망 변화 폭도 컸다. 2026∼2120년까지 평균
